How many times have you heard how I forgot his Daddy at the football field. He is 30 and he still doesn't get how a mother who works all day could forget her son, never mind that she had to pick up the daughter at ballet, pick up groceries, get them in the house, start dinner and that is when I missed him as he walked in the door. Or the time, before cell phones, I stopped off for groceries and didn't call home, took my time, he was hysterical " I should have called home, I could have been killed on the freeway!"
