Strawberry Fields

Sunday morning we took the kids to pick strawberries...

Caught red-handed.

3.41 pounds of strawberries later we called it a day.

P.S. I know you are all wondering where my 3-year-old is during this entire trip. And here let me show you:

Kyan ran all over. The following picture depicts his approximate path while I was trying to capture this photo.
At one point he was kind enough to humor me.

Oh! And, look! He humored me again.

Why is it that when you take the family out to pick berries you are the only one who actually picks the berries and places them into the container and not your mouth?

Aren't fresh strawberries the best!? Our season was over a few weeks ago, but man they were good this year. The pictures were so cute. I wish I had a little blonde curly top! Adorable!

Your picture reminds me of the Family Circle cartoon strip! HA!

And it's because they are too good to resist! Even dirty.

It's no fun unless you eat while you pick!

Sooo cute. Where did you go to pick Strawberries?

Dawn, Yes they go in the container. One set of parents actually forbid their child from eating any. My husband was appalled. HAHAA.

Chris, Yes us West Coaster's are hardcore. Tats and all.

Brandy, they are "organic"...no pesticides so the only thing we got extra was a little dirt. And you dirt never hurt anyone.

Leezee52, We went to Remlinger. It was fun! The Bellevue Strawberry U-pick/Festival is sometime in early July.

LOL! Your 3 year old is so cute... but he's really thin, especially in that last picture. I think you might want to feed him a bit more. ;)

Oh, but isn't eating the berries half the fun of picking them??? I used to love berry picking with my mom for just that reason. There's nothing sweeter than warm berries straight off the plan. Mmmmm...sadly, strawberries are all gone here. I'll have to plan better for next year. Enjoy the berry goodness!

Oh! Strawberry picking in WA! I miss that. It is the law that they don't pick and only you do. I only know this is true because my children have only ever eaten two for every one they pick and I vaguely remember my parents being super frustrated when they took us out that one time back a long long time ago.

I've lived here since 1975 and I haven't been to Remlingers...I've gotta go!!! I love the Pike Place Market but it's alittle pricey and there's no free parking.

Kandace, you're just getting way too popular...so many comments already! I miss the days when I had the one and only comment. Now I'm just one of the crowd of Kandace-groupies.

Anyway...LOVE your photos. You're such a talented photographer, especially the way you were able to get Kyan in there. : ) But really, you are so talented. I love your photos.

Love the picture of the two kids together. Did Kyan get the red skin from your side of the family or his dad's? :-)

Too cute!

I loved going strawberry picking as a kid not so much as an adult.

The third picture is awesome. I'll be seriously upset with you if you don't blow it up and have it framed in your house somewhere. SOOOOOO cute!!!

Our strawberries still have snow stacked around them. David had a softball game last night and it was the first time he didn't need to wear a thermal shirt underneath his jersey. You are lucky God loves the city you live in.
