The thing I love about living in the country happens to be the exact same thing I hate about it.
Now, don't get me wrong we do live 30 minutes out of downtown Seattle and it's country-ish, but by no means is it the middle of nowhere. We have stores and espresso stands every few feet just like Belltown only with less bums.
More importantly, however, is the fact that along with less bums comes a thing called Nature. Shocking, I know.
The black bear that has been haunting the area scares me but what are you going to do when people tear down hundreds of acres for a Casino? I mean, it's supposed to be the hottest thing, so what if it displaces a few hundred wildlife creatures? That seems like a small price to pay for billions in profit. (I am totally kidding, I think it sucks but it's the nature of growth.)
But a little re-location of some wildlife happens to be, if nothing else, educational for our little ones.
I present to you Froggie Relocation #679.
(Please note after these photos were taken Mr. Froggie was once again relocated by our 3-year-old and released back into the wild to continue to grow and prosper.)

How I want a pet frog for my own!...sigh....
and a turtle and a peacock and a rabbit and a dog and a hamster and a new kitty....I could go on forever.
If your kid squeezes Mr. Froggy any tighter, his eyes will pop out!
Awww! I love those little frogs! That's the kind we have in our yard too. My kids love to catch them.
Oh that's sooo cute!!! Are you talking about the Casino that's being built in North Bend? I am excited to see it. We go to the Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn.
Aww! Mr. Froggy is so cute!
He looks so cute. We have all kinds of wildlife in our yard but the weird thing about it is that our house was built in 1861 so I don't get why these creatures haven't found somewhere else to live.
so cute...i love to see kids enjoying nature and not just playing video games and watching TV.
Love it! That is so cute. My boys love to pick up toads and things, I just don't want them to show me too close. Ick. The bunny rescue however ended tragically. He didn't make it. Sporting a cool rabbits foot key chain now, but...just kidding. ;) Seriously though he died of infection.
Really sweet...is it looking for a foster home??
I don't know who is cuter - the frog or the kids!!!
Very cute! Your little girl's blonde curls are adorable.
I've often thought of relocating our pet rabbit to his natural habbit. For some reason, I'm not sure he'd make it very far.

Aw! We just had three in our pool that we saved and released. The two year old was just giddy at her new found friends.
Okay, that picture with the frog in the little loving hands, makes me want to cry. I love it. And, I need to get a grip on my emotions.
Love the frog pics. We have all sorts of wildlife around here, but I cannot agree with you more about the bears and other animals that are misplaced by growth. Then people get all mad, like it's the animals' fault. Ugh, what to do?
I just found your blog through a message board post.
Your photos are great. You'd think being a scrapbooker I'd take more photos, but I don't.
I'm such a city girl. I'm not sure I could live 30 minutes outside the city LOL.
