Number 3...

4, and 5? You decide.

I am not really sure I've ever had a run of bad things happen in quite this way before. Which, I guess, just tells me I was due.

Remember how I was all, "bring it on, number 3"?

Oh the universe heard me and she brought it.

My right breast is the size of a watermelon. Why, you ask? Because I am still breastfeeding our almost 2 year old (shocker, right?) and somehow many a ducts are infected. Ouch. Double ouch, still not going to a doctor because, antibiotics will ultimately make me feel worse. So, unless this fever escalates I'll be riding this one out with some ibuprofen, ice and heat.

So, my thoughts are maybe that is number 3.

Or.

Last night my almost 2 year old decided to get out of bed, slip on the sleeping bag next to the bed and slam right into the nightstand.

Black eye, cut, swollen.

So, maybe that is number 3.

But, wait, wait there is more.

While loading up a car full of plumbing supplies for his boss my husband shut the trunk - the pipes blew out the front window.

So, maybe that is number 3. Or 4, or 5.

Seriously, WTF?

All I can do is laugh.

Ack! Swollen boobie...sooo not funny. Unless you are a man and then you know they think its funny. The rest, kinda funny in retrospect. Sorry it all hit at once but shhhh, don't tempt fate again and I think your current quota is met.

All of it is freaking hilarious, really. I mean any one of those things - no big deal. Add it up and start wondering who the hell you pissed off.

I'm sure you're a pro at the breastfeeding thing and already know this but hot compresses, showers (if you can tolerate it) and try to tolerate a pump.

I hope you feel better soon!!

Congrats and still breastfeeding an almost 2 year old! (Sore boob and all, it's a great accomplishment)

OMG! All in like 25 hours?? Holy crap, that sucks!
Poor kid! They can never hurt themselves in a clothing covered spot, can they?

I don't know how you soak just one boob (and not your whole body, lol) but have you tried soaking it in warm water with Epsom salts? I guess you could soak a thick rag in water and Epsom salts and lay it around/on/under yourself.
Cabbage leaves are said to fight engorgement though not sure if that sounds hoaky/wive's tale/stupid, but it might be worth a shot at the moment to help with swelling. If nothing else it might feel good between warm soaks! :-D

With that kind day I think I'd go back to bed! I don't think I' be asking for ....sshhhhh the next number, I won't say it. :-D

I can vouch for cold cabbage leaves! Saved my sanity about 13 yrs ago. Some of those old wives were pretty smart.

I too think you have met your quota. Hang in there.
