Snow DAY!!!

Another thing I love about living in the Pacific Northwest is the fact that when we get a little precipitation in the form of snow the whole city comes to a screeching halt. Everyone gets on the phone to call one another to talk about the Blizzard that happened to pass through last night leaving an inch or two in its wake then we all stay glued to the weather channel for fear that another Blizzard is on its way and, omg, do we have enough food to last a whole day or two before the de-frost?

I am serious, the PNW people are this dramatic, just watch the news or watch just watch them try to drive in the snow. In general, PNW people suck at driving. If the weather isn't 60 and overcast we cannot drive - even the sun throws us for a loop. It is this fact, that leads me to never go to work when there is snow on the ground, well this, and the fact that I have children who desperately want to play in the snow with me.

Snow days are beautiful - it is like time recaptured, that is, until this thing called technology caught up to the 21st century and gave us the ability to work from home. Curses, technology, curses.
So what should have been a fun filled day spent playing with snowballs and creating snowmen turned into a day full of work and calls and emails and more emails and me feeling pretty much more beat up than if I was able to actually drive into work. Curses.

But, all was not lost, since the plumbing trucks do not drive in the snow Bob took the day off as well and the kids had a blast. Mostly, though, we stayed warm and enjoyed movies. And the answer is, yes, there is another Blizzard on its way. For some reason, I only ever enjoy 1 snow day and somehow 2 snow days in a row take the luster away from snow days in general.

Please note: I suck, I never even got to go outside and, thus, I have nothing to show you how adorable my little snow angels were in their snowsuits. Tomorrow, I swear, I'll share since the Blizzard promises to yield at least an inch.

Awe!! No pics of the little stay puff people?! Those are the best. Well I sincerely hope you get out there today. I have to whole heartedly agree with your description of the NW and snow. When I first moved there and we got an inch I thought it was a little, they thought it was the end of the world. Sooo Funny! And from here its funnier!

You know I'll have a comment on the snow! I always have to laugh at other regions when they get snow and it's all over the news b/c they got an inch or two. But, I also know they aren't used to it. It's all relative, right? We're supposed to get 2-3" today and it's just passing news. But again, in WI we're quite used to snow. I hope you get to enjoy it while it lasts. And we want pics!!
