Rest in Peace
Our beloved dog, Cracker, passed away suddenly last night at the age of 5 months. Although he was the newest Zimmerman he was still very much a part of our lives. He will be missed by all of us! Cracker rest in peace little buddy.

Brief Exchange before leaving this morning
"Kyan please get out of the back of the car into your carseat."
"I want to ride in the back."
"Honey, you cannot ride in the back. Mommy will go to jail."
...a few minutes later while driving down the road...
"Mommy, are we going to Jail's house?"

Newsletter Kyan Month 31
Dear Kyan –
I just got inspired to write you a letter each month. I hope someday, probably when you have your own children, you will look back at these and laugh at how silly your father and I were. I will apologize for not documenting each month before this one but hey better late than never.
Let’s get caught up. The first 12 months of your life was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. You grew from a worm, as Papa Tom called you (mama’s boss) into a little being that could get what he wanted and even let us know once in a while that you were hungry, or needed more (thanks to the sign language Melia taught you). You came to work with me for the first 9 months of your life. Everyone at work loved that you came because you never cried and when you were awake you offered smiles to anyone who would glance in your direction. You started daycare at Melia’s in July. Let’s be honest. You totally hated it. Every second you were there. It wasn’t Melia that you hated it was the change. After 5 or 6 weeks you finally came around and grew to love Melia. You briefly had to go to another provider but went back to Melia when she had room for you. You love her and Tristan is your best friend. Tristan is a bit rougher than you at times and Melia and I joke that with friends like Tristan you don’t need enemies! Your father is convinced we need to toughen you up and have you fight back.
The next 12 months were even better than the first. You went from sort of communicating to actually telling us what you wanted and needed. Man what a relief! You walked 2 weeks after your first birthday and haven’t stopped since. In February of 2006 we went to Disney World with Aunt Ali and Colton. Although you were young you enjoyed our time there. You were a trooper. You received your first kiss from a girl while we were in Epcot one evening and your father can tell you she was a Hottie. You tried to chase after and get her number but she vanished into the crowd. Sadly this second year of your life you spent in pain. If you didn’t have ear infections then you were fighting respiratory infections. We had to take you to the ER for the first time because you were so sick. Eventually you had tubes put into your ears and were sent to a specialist for Asthma. Since starting you on the Asthma meds last September you have been a different child. Happy and although you get the occasional cold you never get sick enough to warrant a trip to the doctor.
You started potty training this month. You love the potty. You have been somewhat interested in the potty since before your 2nd birthday but we never thought it necessary to do any formal training. Finally we caved and decided it was time. To be honest, we were dreading it. Okay I was dreading it. Luckily you took to it immediately. You love to be a big boy! Getting you to poop on the potty proved to be a harder task than peeing. You had a situation early on that involved an “ouchie poo poo” and that derailed the training until we could figure a way to get you back on track. Daddy bought a new truck and you seemed to think that was your reward for going poop and have not had an accident since then. You walk around telling Daddy that the new truck is yours and that the yellow Ford is his. You remind Daddy who is in charge on a daily basis.
Easter was this month. You loved every minute of it. You began the day by eating a Reese’s Peanut Butter cup. Your father and I are breaking all sorts of rules by letting you do this but we don’t really care about those rules. You continued the festivities by having an egg hunt with Colton, Cheesy and Cindy. You wanted to hunt again so we hide them again and off you went. The candy continued to be eaten. When you couldn’t eat anymore candy you decided that you needed some Jell-O. Then you decided it was time to spin around the pole in the living room. This ended in you throwing up on the floor. Us Zimmerman’s really know how to party!
I really cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you. I do know that when you are around I cannot wipe the cheesy grin from my face. I love you!
I’ll keep it shorter next month! I promise.
Love,
Mama

Welcome to our Blog
Hopefully in the next few weeks I will be able to post frequently and include pictures. I have had it with our crappy digital camera and I have saved up enough to buy a real camera. Hopefully I can figure out how to work it and include some pictures with some stories from our adventures.
In the meantime do not hold your breath you may keel over waiting for my lazy arse to actually post something other than this Welcome letter!
